New Feature! Click Here for access to Maryland’s most extensive listing of Jewish cemetery burials and other on-line resources!

The Robert L. Weinberg Family History Center, located in the Anne Adalman Goodwin Library of the Jewish Museum of Maryland, contains a wealth of resources for pursuing family history and genealogical research. We welcome researchers in our collections*.

Our Family History Resources list and our guide to Additional Resources in the Baltimore area should help you determine how you would like to use our services

Visitor Research in Our Collections:

The library is available for research Monday through Thursday by appointment only. To make an appointment, please send an email to or call (410) 500-5349 and leave a message with your research topic and contact information .  Members may use our research facilities free of charge; non-members pay a $10 fee.

Staff will  help you access other Maryland repositories on-line, and in some cases will make referrals to local genealogists. This service is free-of-charge.

*Research-by-mail service has been suspended. We are not accepting new research by mail inquiries.

Extended Research Service at Jewish Cemeteries:

We will do research and take digital pictures at Baltimore-area Jewish cemeteries, and send them to you electronically. The cost of this service is $60 per trip for non-members, $50 per trip for members. A $60 non-refundable advance minimum research fee is required ($50 for JMM members).
