18 Stones imagines the story of a Jewish family living in Holland in the 1930s and 40s. Inspired by a collection of family photographs, Nancy Patz’s rich portraits and Susan L. Roth’s thought provoking prose poems portray a Dutch family’s everyday experiences on the eve of the Holocaust.

Patz and Roth have each written many prize-winning children’s books. 18 Stones is their first collaborative book for adults.
