Marrying Maryland

Marrying Maryland: We want your wedding!

Marrying Maryland with Frieda

In conjunction with our upcoming exhibition Just Married! Wedding Stories from Jewish Maryland the JMM is creating an online exhibition, Marrying Maryland, featuring photos and invitations from as many different weddings as we can.  We’re asking Jewish Marylanders to contribute an invitation and photograph from any and all weddings that occurred in Maryland, and had some connection to the Jewish community.

What: An invitation and photograph from the wedding, along with a few details and, if possible, a sentence or two about the event.  It doesn’t have to be your own wedding; send us stuff from your parents, grandparents, friends and relations.  There are no restrictions on date or type of ceremony; we want everything from the Wedding of the Century to a quiet elopement, from the 19th century to last weekend, from Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist, interfaith, and unaffiliated Jewish communities representing traditional, same sex, avant garde, and all manner of Jewish weddings.

Why: Marrying Maryland will be a feature on our blog, updated periodically with new submissions.

How: Scan* and email; bring in, or mail, for us to scan and return; donate originals.  Please fill out the Marrying Maryland Submission Form and send it back with the images.

When: As soon as possible!  Just Married opens on June 18, 2017.
