Celebrating 75 Years of Eddie’s of Roland Park

Eddie’s of Roland Park has origins like many other stores of its era throughout Baltimore, Maryland, and America. It was founded in 1944 by a young Jewish immigrant, Victor Cohen, with a focus on excellent customer service and great quality food. Cohen worked hard to build one of Baltimore’s most loved and respected grocery stores, open to all Baltimoreans. What makes this story unique is that the store is still owned by Cohen’s descendants, who continue to uphold his vision while also driving forward the industry.

Celebrating 75 years in business, this exhibit used photos, awards, and other items to examine the history of the store. Visitors discovered the origins of the store, its importance and impact both locally and beyond, plus answer perhaps the most nagging question – who is Eddie?
