Celebrate the 51st anniversary of the moon landing with this fun family program!
Explore the challenges of space travel and what astronauts have chosen to take into orbit to remind them of home. From dreidels to dinosaurs to guitars, selecting your special objects can be nearly impossible. Weight, size, shape – all have to be considered.
As part of the program we will ask ourselves and each other what we might choose to take to space – and why. Then we’ll start turning our answers into art projects! You can submit your project to JMM and be featured online, plus some projects will be shown in our upcoming exhibit Jews in Space: Members of the Tribe in Orbit.
Download the What Would You Bring to Space art packet here.
This program is best suited for ages 5 to 8, though it will be plenty of fun for the whole family
This live stream Zoom event is presented in the lead up to this fall’s special exhibit, Jews in Space: Members of the Tribe in Orbit. This program is part of our month-long celebration in honor of the first moon landing!
