Baltimore’s Bambi Galore presents Drag Queen Story Hour with JMM!

Listen to stories, sing songs, and join in activities that celebrate acceptance and inclusivity. This program is open to all, and the activities are perfect for children ages 3-8.

Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories for kids. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.

Bambi Galore is at their heart a performer. Bambi performed in a variety of forms before becoming a Drag Queen, though Drag has allowed them to express a part of themselves in ways classical theatre and other performance art has not.  In 2018 they were listed as Baltimore’s Best Drag Performer by the City Paper and in 2019 became Baltimore’s Queen of Pride.  Bambi is honored to show children another view of diversity and inclusion through their role as the coordinator of the Baltimore Chapter of Drag Queen Story Hours and as a parent.
