Together We Remember: Baltimore

April 19, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Thursday, April 19th at 7:00pm

at the Lloyd Street Synagogue

Free: Register Here.

Together We Remember: Baltimore serves to bring together diverse facets of the Baltimore community to remember our past, live in the present, and plan for the future. We will commemorate those who have been killed in acts of genocide through both a name reading and a musical performance from Jazz musician David Diongue. Come join us to build a stronger and brighter Baltimore.

#TogetherWeRemember is an annual campaign aimed at transforming remembrance of past genocides, atrocities, and other acts of identity-based violence into meaningful action to achieve the promise of “Never Again.”

Together We Will:

>Convene Local Leaders: Join change makers from the Baltimore community who have the power to make a profound impact together.

>Shift from Fear to Courage: Draw inspiration and strength from local artist David Diongue (Dauda) and his musical performance.

>Learn & Dialogue: Engage in a town-hall style dialogue on how we can counter division, prevent violence, and look out for one another.

>Build a Sustainable Coalition: Establish a sense of kinship with fellow participants that transcends race, religion, and politics.

>Commemorate: Through a powerful name-reading ceremony we will remember victims of identity-based violence and celebrate stories of up-standers.

>Commit to Act: Contribute your ideas to foster empathy, empower and protect the vulnerable in our community, and spark a movement to fulfill the promise of “Never Again” for all people.

>Go Public: Share our experience with others and invite the broader community to get engaged so we can realize what Baltimore can be at its best.
