For All the World To Hear: Stories From the Struggle for Civil Rights

Posted on November 16th, 2002 by

This live, oral history performance is part of a dynamic humanities project in which 10 senior citizens from the Baltimore area tell personal stories about their involvement with the struggle for civil rights.

This program is a companion piece to the gallery exhibition at UMBC "For All the World to See: Visual Culture and the Struggle for Civil Rights," which is open until March 10, 2013 at the Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture . For more info on the gallery (and online) exhibition, click here.

"For All the World to Hear" is organized by Center for Art, Design & Visual Culture at UMBC and made possible by a grant from the Maryland Humanities Council, through support from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Any views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities or the Maryland Humanities Council.

This event takes place on Sunday, February 10th at 2pm at the Jewish Museum of Maryland at the Herbert Bearman Campus, 15 Lloyd Street, Baltimore, MD  21202

Purim Pandemonium
Heroes vs Villains

Saturday, March 19, 2011 9pm-1am

Do you often rush into phone booths to change? Or do you prefer a dimly lit (but high-tech) lair? Do you want to rule the world, or save it from destruction? A caped crusader or masked fiend? Do you prefer sidekicks or henchmen? Battled a man-eating great white lately?  Or maybe you are the only one standing between a gang of thieves and a vault filled with millions of dollars?  Whether you want to soar towards the moon or blow it up, Purim Pandemonium is the place to don your mask and party like heroes and villains.

Party-goers over age 21 (with I.D.) can enjoy DJ Mike on the mic, an open bar and refreshments.

Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door, and $15 for groups of 10 or more.  Available below or by contacting Rachel Kassman at 410.732.6400 x225 or rkassman@jewishmuseummd.org
