Speaker: Marvin Pinkert, Executive Director, Jewish Museum of Maryland
The American Civil War is an often-overlooked part of the American Jewish experience. JMM Director Marvin Pinkert, however, knows the importance of America’s then-tiny Jewish community and their role in the conflict. Not only did American Jews play a significant part, but the Civil War shaped modern Jewish life as we know it today. Marvin will share these insights in a reprised lecture originally delivered at the National Archives. A discussion will follow the talk, with an opportunity for audience questions.
