Join Jacqueline Semha Gmach as she traces her personal story from living in Tunisia, the land of the bomboloni, to immigrating to the United States, the land of the bagel. She will share her experiences of Jewish life in Tunisia and how she melded the traditions of her homeland with those of her new home in San Diego.

About the Author:

Jacqueline Semha Gmach has spent a lifetime dedicating her energies to the furtherance of Jewish culture. A native of Tunisia, Mrs. Gmach is the curator of several San Diego-based Jewish events – among them the renowned San Diego Jewish Book Fair. She is the author of the book, FROM BOMBOLONI TO BAGEL: A Story of Two Worlds and the forthcoming novel THE ANTIPHONARY OF LOVE. She is currently the Project Director at USC Shoah Foundation Institute and is also the founder and creative director of WE ARE THE TREE OF LIFE, an initiative whose mission is to present the arts and culture that were created during the Holocaust as an educational tool.
