Join the Jewish Museum of Maryland for “Koleinu (Our Voices) קולינו” this year’s Annual Meeting. The theme of koleinu comes from Jewish liturgy, specifically, the daily Amidah. That prayer calls on G!d to “hear our voices,” and in that spirit, we are compelled to hear the voices of everyone we are in community with.

“Koleinu” celebrates JMM’s work over the past year, including the elevation of underrepresented voices through the groundbreaking contemporary art show A Fence Around The Torah: Safety And Unsafety In Jewish Life; uplifting the First Amendment freedoms of speech and assembly through the historical exhibit Blacklist: The Hollywood Red Scare; and the launch of the JMM’s first podcast Disloyal

The event will begin with a presentation of the fiscal year 2023 slate of nominees to the JMM’s Board of Trustees for election by the Museum’s membership.

In keeping with the theme of “Our Voices,” the program will feature many voices, including radio legend Marc Steiner in conversation about how some of the history depicted in Blacklist touched Jewish people in Baltimore; a musical performance by JMM staff members and reflections from people who have been impacted by the Museum’s programming over the past year.

We look forward to seeing you there!
