Gold Star Surprise

Hello everyone! It’s store manager Chris again! As we put February 2020 behind us, and with it the Valentine’s Day gift event, I want to thank all of our members, old and new, who helped make the event a success! We ran out of gifts (we were not expecting that!) in the last week of the event, but don’t worry, even though February ticks into March, I have more fun events up my sleeve. For example, I think everyone deserves a gold star for supporting the museum, so beginning on March 1st, you will find select items in our store with a gold star on their price tag. These items will all receive a 10% discount on purchase.
Over the course of the past month, I have been pretty active around the shop as I get more used to the daily operations and events going on. With the help of our wonderful shop volunteers, the shop has hosted Purim with many bright and colorful toys on the shelves. Toys range from puzzles to ten-pins, from noise makers to puppets. Once again, Purim items were a hit as visitors bought gifts for friends, family, or themselves.
On top of the holidays, the “Scrap Item of the Day” event is going very well. Items are flying off the shelf with irresistible deals ranging from 85-100% off. . As of my writing, the item for the day is an antique-looking 2”x2” glass jewelry box for 85% off the original price! As I work behind the scenes cleaning and organizing the storage space, I keep finding more items like this box to add to the sale. This is a win-win scenario for everyone in my book!
In addition to my work in the store, I have been active behind the scenes as well. I think it is always important to be informed on the going-on in a place our visitors are so invested in. I’ve finished re-organizing the store room where we keep extra merchandise to make it easier for us in the shop to help you. The volunteers and I have also been cleaning the store and ensuring the items are well-cared for before you bring them home. Some of our item placements have been reconsolidated so they are easier to get to and are displayed to the full potential.
Thank you for reading! I hope you come and visit us here in the shop during your next museum visit!
