Popular and lesser-known shop items
Hello everyone, this is Chris again! For this week’s blog post, I would like to highlight some of our more popular items alongside some of our lesser-known items in the shop. Recently, our museum shop, Esther’s Place, conducted our yearly inventory check so I was able to re-familiarize myself with some of the items we have had in storage and (honestly) there are some really nice pieces that have been out of public view for a couple years now. If you are reading this blog, you’ll be one of the first few to check out these really nice items.
Our first highlighted item is our most popular, the Oy Vey mug. Having long been a staple gift here at the shop, I thought it only fair this mug take the top spot on the blog (and at a price of $13, it makes sense why it’s so popular!)
Another popular item is the book On Middle Ground: A History of the Jews of Baltimore. Having sold almost 100 copies of this book in a couple years, it is both our bestselling book and one of the better selling items in the shop. Priced at $39.95, this 400-page book is full of quality first-hand information about the Jews of Baltimore.
Another popular item is a recent addition to our shop, the Jewish Penicillin Mug. Perfect for soup or an extra large cup of coffee in the morning, these mugs can hold up to 20 oz. and come in a variety of colors (and at $18 per, they also make excellent gifts!)
As I promised, you might not have seen some of there items before. Tucked away in storage, these items haven’t been on display since I began working at JMM.
The first two items are for the kids. These Play-Doh doctor and dentist kits allow kids to emulate their parents of favorite practitioner through imaginative exploration. Both of these sets are perfect for growing childhood imagination. If you are interested in these kits, they are available through our online store.
Other items not recently seen are the souvenir baseballs. We have two options for those interested in these types of souvenirs. One baseball has the Star Spangled Banner across it while the other has the saying “Mazel Tov!” scrawled across the front. At $15 each, these Jewish and Maryland baseballs are perfect for gifting or collecting.
Our final highlighted item is a very nice painted mini keepsake box, which is perfect for use as a Tzedakah box and will complete any room’s decor.
