Want to host your special event in the oldest synagogue in Maryland?

The Jewish Museum of Maryland offers rentals for weddings, b’nai mitzvot, and more in our Lloyd Street Synagogue. This historic building, built in 1845, features a beautiful main sanctuary with seating for 150 people, or 200 with limited view. With close proximity to Little Italy, the Inner Harbor, and many hotels and attractions, the Lloyd Street Synagogue is a memorable place to celebrate any occasion.

Please contact our Visitor Services Coordinator for availability. Rentals of the Lloyd Street Synagogue cannot take place during Jewish holidays. This includes the two days of Rosh Hashana, the day of Yom Kippur, the first two  and last two days of Sukkot, the first two and last two days of Pesach, and the two days of Shavuot.

The cost to rent the Lloyd Street Synagogue starts at $750.

Rental of the synagogue only includes:

  • Use of the space for four hours. Additional hours will be charged at $250 an hour.
  • Staff, security, and custodial services for four hours – Note, staff time includes initial walkthrough, staffing of the rehearsal, staffing of a photography session, and phone consultation. Additional hours are billed at $100 an hour.
  • ½ an hour of set up and ½ an hour of clean up

JMM does not provide decorations, use of a Torah, a rabbi, mohel, cantor, or any other additional materials or people necessary for an event. There is no food allowed in the Lloyd Street Synagogue at any time. If you want to host a catered event, please check out our other rental options here.
