CONFRONTING ANTISEMITISM

Winter Teachers Institute 2020: Day Two

Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 6:30am – 7:00pm

Location: Museum of Jewish Heritage, New York

This event has sold out.

The Maryland State Department of Education recently announced its plan to enrich the teaching of Holocaust education in public schools. These proposed changes include teaching about the Holocaust, the roots of anti-Semitism, and studying current events of contemporary genocide. JMM and the Baltimore Jewish Council are dedicated to supporting teachers by providing opportunities to learn from professionals and be better prepared to teach about the Holocaust with confidence.

Last year, we offered our first Winter Teachers Institute as a PD opportunity for teachers from all backgrounds to engage in meaningful discussions, deepen their understanding of the Holocaust, and explore ways of implementing their learning in the classroom. Due to the success of last year’s Winter Teachers Institute, JMM and the Baltimore Jewish Council are pleased to offer this opportunity again over two consecutive Sundays in February, taking place at the Jewish Museum of Maryland (day one) and the Museum of Jewish Heritage in NY (day two).
