Cinema Judaica: The Holocaust and Its Aftermath (5)
Filmmakers addressed the Holocaust and its aftermath through both documentaries and fictional stories, portraying conditions in the concentration camps, the fight to achieve justice against the perpetrators, and the plight of survivors. Though they are very different movies, the powerful words and images found in Night and Fog (1955), Judgement at Nuremberg (1961), and The Sorrow and the Pity (1969) helped to ensure that neither the Holocaust nor its consequences would be forgotten.
