Volunteer Spotlight on Bev Rosen!

Bev Rosen has been a volunteer docent at the JMM for two years. She decided to become a volunteer because she loves history, giving presentations and helping people learn new things. She is also very outgoing and people oriented and thought that she would be a good fit for the docent position.

Bev came to the Baltimore area, twenty-seven years ago from North Carolina. She is trained as a licensed clinical social worker and has an MBA from Johns Hopkins in marketing. She has served as an executive coach and workshop leader for WorkWonders. Bev believes in living a diversified life. She hates sitting still and likes to create and be a part of new projects. She is now semi-retired, but still remains very active as an “Urban Ranger” tour guide for Baltimore Heritage in Fells Point, organizing tours from the Senior Box Office to visit the JMM and traveling to places like Provence, France and Cuba.

Bev enjoys bringing to life the history and culture of the Baltimore Jewish experience through daily tours of our two historic synagogues, introducing to our exhibits, outreach activities and Jewish themed walking tours of Jonestown. She appreciates hearing participants tell their stories about their experiences down at Lloyd Street or related to the synagogues’ histories.

I can always rely on Bev to be very punctual, organized and energetic as well as to give constructive feedback about the volunteer program and museum operations. She may also be taking on some additional projects such as helping with our marketing efforts and helping to expand on our neighborhood walking tour.

If you would like to join Bev as a docent (or any other volunteer position), please visit our website to find out how you can get involved.
