Chavruta: Let’s Learn Together!

Jewish Museum of Maryland Annual Celebration 2026/5786

Celebrate the joy–and fun–of learning together with the Jewish Museum of Maryland at our 2026/5786 Annual Celebration and experience an evening of shared exploration, discovery, and connection!

Inspired by the Jewish tradition of chavruta study partnerships, JMM invites you to a night of experiential learning–whether that’s playing a game of table tennis, delving into Maryland’s Jewish history and culture, or exploring artful Jewish ritual objects from around the world–together.

Catch highlights of JMM’s work over the past year, recognize student essay contest winners of the Second Annual Identity and Political Participation in the U.S. Essay Contest, a partnership between JMM, the Associated Jewish Community Federation, and the Thomas Kennedy Center, reflecting on the lasting impact of Maryland’s 1826 “Jew Bill.”

Through interactive paired learning, attendees will have an opportunity to share ideas back-and-forth in Open Court: Ping-Pong Pop-Up gallery installation, reflect on history in the new core exhibition Jews of Maryland at the Crossroads of Identity, draw inspiration from the mezuzah collections within Upon Thy Gates exhibition, tap into the knowledge held in JMM’s collections, learn all about the Museum’s audio/video production studio and more.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be available for the formal presentation elements of the program. Please reach out to our team if you have additional accessibility needs.

Parking: Street-side parking is available. Please be sure to check the parking signs when you park on the street.
