Family Crafting: Mezuzah Magic
** Update **
Following cancellation due to inclement weather, this event has been rescheduled to Sunday, March 29. If you registered for the January event, your registration has been rolled over. Please contact info@jewishmuseummd.org with questions or concerns.
Join the Jewish Museum of Maryland for a morning of Jewish art and hands-on creativity with your family.
JMM Public Art Coordinator Naomi Rose Weintraub will teach participants about the magic of mezuzot and lead them in decorating their own mezuzah cases to take home.
Attendees will learn what is inside a mezuzah by viewing a crankie-puppetry piece all about the V’ahavta, the central prayer inside a mezuzah.
This program is open to families with children of all ages, and kosher family-friendly snacks will be provided.
Attendees will have the chance to explore the Museum with the JMM Journeys activity book and visit the Museum’s new audiovisual production studio. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit Upon Thy Gates, an exhibition presenting mezuzahs from around the world featured in the Elaine K. and Norman Winik Mezuzah Collection, on loan from the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education
