RAZA: Live in Concert
The Jewish Museum of Maryland presents a participatory concert with RAZA, a musical ensemble led by Chana Raskin, which explores the feminine voice in old Hasidic melodies.
RAZA’s performances are a rare opportunity to experience live, authentic Hasidic nigunim (melodies) sung by women. The group’s recent debut album, Kapelya, reflects Raskin’s deep personal connection to Chabad nigunim and their role in spiritual and communal healing. Ensemble members for the concert include Rabbi Deborah Sacks Mintz (vocals, guitar, mandolin), Eleonore Weill (kaval, vocals), Jessie Reagen (cello, vocals), and Maya Cohen (percussion, vocals).
