In-Person + Virtual Offerings

Group experiences are option to a wide array of groups, from religious congregations to retirement communities.
At this time, we are offering virtual and off-site programming for groups. Beginning in February 2025, offerings detailed below may be available either virtually or on-site at our newly renovated campus. We can’t wait to welcome your group to explore Jewish history, culture, and community together.

Story gathering

Picturing
Past + Present
Pop-Ups

The Jewish Museum of Maryland invites all who identify as Jewish and have a connection to Maryland to contribute their family photos to our new core exhibit Picturing Past + Present. This project celebrates the full diversity of Jewish Marylanders, offering a chance for everyone to see their family represented.

The exhibit will feature a rotating display of submitted photographs alongside an interactive terminal where visitors can explore entries by names or keywords. Submissions will remain open, allowing the collection to grow over time.

Interested in hosting a story-gathering event in your community? JMM can provide scanners, computers, and technical support to help participants digitize and upload their photos.

Jewish History

Synagogue Stories

Experience the rich history of Maryland’s Jewish community with this multimedia presentation, featuring the two historic synagogues on our campus: Lloyd Street Synagogue and B’nai Israel. Offered both virtually and in-person, this program brings the stories of Maryland’s Jewish history directly to your community.

The centerpiece of the presentation is Synagogue Stories: A Tradition of Change on Lloyd Street, a 36-minute documentary released in 2022. The film explores the Jewish history of Baltimore and the Jonestown neighborhood, home to Maryland’s first synagogue building, the Lloyd Street Synagogue, built in 1845.

The program concludes with additional historical context and a live Q+A session with a JMM staff member.

Interested in hosting Synagogue Stories for your community? Contact us: info@jewishmuseummd.org
